Summary

Chapter 25 - Dimitri makes Priest show him exactly how the contacts are made, but Kennedy stays behind, wanting to be alone. Kennedy thinks about the Shift and where it is now as she starts to blame herself for everything that has happened and all of the deaths she inadvertently caused. Gabriel appears in the doorway to take Kennedy to the containment area, telling her that he knows she would sneak down there with or without him. Kennedy questions why he cares so much about her and Dimitri tells her that he was good friends with her mother. Kennedy still doesn’t believe him, and Gabriel tells Kennedy that her mother saved him when he wasn’t strong enough to do it himself, and he was not about to let his friend’s daughter get herself killed.
