The story of Cirion and Eorl begins long before the birth of either. There is a long chronicle of historical events that lead up to their great battle. The Eotheod are a remnant of the Northmen that moved to the west to join the Valar in the days of Morgoth. Their land served as a block between Gondor and it's enemies from the north and east. In 1635, there came a great plague to the land that cost the Northmen greatly in both lives and horses.
