Summary

In Chapter 3 of “Bonds”, Benjamin and Helen married after a short engagement. They spent their two week long honeymoon in the mansion on Fifth Avenue as it “was sufficiently alien to both of them to make it a bit of a holiday” (59). After the war ended, Helen contacted the doctors at the clinic in Switzerland to inquire after her father’s health and learned that he had run away shortly after his admittance; the staff was unable to ascertain his whereabouts.
