Summary

In Chapter 20, Charlie went home for the weekend and felt sad that Austin did not respond to her texts. She texted her old hook-up buddy, Kyle. He had been a super-senior at Jefferson High when she was a freshman and they had study hall together. She told her dad she was going to her mom’s house so she could sneak out to see him. She met him at his concert in East Colson (the "bad" side of town) and took ecstasy with him and his friends from his punk band. They were all in their twenties and they called him “Slash,” which he said was the name he now preferred.

In Chapter 21, Charlie woke up naked in Slash's bed at a house he and his friends squatted in. He told her his band’s name was Robespierre like the French Revolution leader...
