Ken Ilgunas

Ken Ilgunas is the author, main character, and narrator of Trespassing Across America. At the time the book takes place, he is just about to turn 30. Ken describes himself as follows: he stands five feet eight-and-a-half inches tall (rounded up to five nine, he tells himself, for purposes of “simplification”) and weighs in at 180 pound, cutting a mostly normal, if forgettable, figure. He has a few uncombed locks of brown hair and green eyes, one of which has a scar above it. [...] When in society, the author makes a point to attend to all the standards of hygiene and appearance, but when left to himself, he gladly foregoes the rituals of bathing and changing his underwear, as well as shaving his beard, which, when left unperturbed, bears wisps of every imaginable hair color in homage to his blended European ancestry.
