Structure

The book is divided into two parts. The first is identified as Part One: Copiapo, Chile: Above and Below, and is dated August 5 - 22, 2010. The first seven chapters are in this section. The next section is titled Part Two: Around the World and Into Space. Chapter 8 through Chapter 12 are in this part. There are several sections that follow Chapter 12. The Afterword is titled The Hollow Earth. In this section, Aronson summed up the situation, including his belief that miners should be supported on a daily basis rather than just when there is a disaster. The next section is titled The 33 Miners. This includes the names of the 33 men, their ages at the time of the rescue, and a few details about some of them.
