Summary

Lockdown – This chapter begins with the author’s narrative of a situation involving Christina being expelled from her group home after a confrontation with a supervisor. After responding to a frantic phone call and picking Christina up at a mall on Santa Monica Boulevard, the author learns that Christina lost her temper while trying to convince the supervisor that threats of violence made against her by some of the genetic boys at the school she was attending were real. The author takes Christina home with her, where the author and her partner Robin take care of her for the weekend.

The following Monday, the author writes, there began a complicated process of trying to get Christina into a safe place to stay. Problems included the fact that a warrant had been issued for her arrest, apparently standard procedure in situations like this...
