Chapter 11 through Chapter 14 Summary

In Chapter 11, as Dax and Dez wait for Marshall, Dez asks about what Dax saw in her father's intentions. Dax admits Marshall plans to use her, and also points out he knows what she is trying to do, as well, and that she may have to use the ace up her sleeve. When Marshall arrives, the trade occurs, and Dez finds herself feeling hurt that her father doesn't care about her, but pretends to. Back in the car, Dez plays the situation up, claiming Kale tricked her, and roughed her up, threatening to kill her. To conjure tears, Dez thinks of the hell Kale has gone through.

In Chapter 12, Kale sneaks into Dez's room in the night, and although she tries to entice him, Kale didn't take advantage. Instead, he expresses concern that Denazen locked him up because he...
