Summary

In 1964, Freddy began his flying career. He put himself through flight school after college and actively disappointed his father by leaving the family business. He enjoyed the respect he earned as a pilot which was completely new after the ridicule he faced while working for his father. He began to drink more heavily during his time off, something that had never been a problem for him before. He no longer confided in his wife.

After Donald graduated from the military academy, he and Robert, the younger brother, traveled to visit Freddy in Massachusetts.
