Summary

Kazu reflected on the Redouté paintings in the museum and recalled listening to the two women concluding their conversation. One of the women remarked that she had to get home to eat dinner with her husband. Back in the park, Kazu recalls listening to a homeless man talk about losing his money during the economic downturn. This man eventually moved out of the park and Kazu later heard he was murdered by teenagers, one incident in a wave of violent crimes against the homeless. Kazu saw a sign in the park, dated August 2012, declaring that the homeless must pack their belongings and move them to a designated area while the park was being renovated.
