Summary

At the beginning of Chapter 16, told from Naomi’s perspective, Knox, Naomi, and Waylay return to the cottage to find Stef sitting on the front porch. Stef Laio is Naomi’s homosexual best friend. Stef thanks Knox for looking out for Naomi. Naomi thanks Knox for all he did for her and Waylay. Naomi kisses him on the cheek.

Later, Naomi and Stef hang out on the back porch. He assures her that he has not told her parents about anything that has happened. Stef confirms that he never liked Naomi’s fiancee, Warner, and he is glad the two did not get married. He is upset that Naomi did not let him know what had happened and that she was leaving. Stef insists that Knox wants to have sex with Naomi.

Chapter 17 switches to the perspective of Knox. Stef shows up...
