Summary

The first individual asks the second if they want their official or unofficial recommendation on what to do next. The second says they want both.

The first individual explains that they are officially responsible for contacting, welcoming, and logging “any and all sentient races or multibeings” found in their section of the Universe (3). They are supposed to treat these lifeforms “without prejudice, fear or favor” (3). However, what the first individual unofficially thinks they should do is, “erase the records” of the discovery and “forget the whole thing” (3).

The second individual “was hoping” the first would make the latter suggestion (3). They agree wholeheartedly (3).

Although the first individual admits that it “seems harsh” to forget the creatures and cut off contact with them, they believe “there is a limit” (3). In their opinion, communicating with meat seems undesirable and unnecessary.
