Clementine

Clementine is one of the central characters in the novel. She is the youngest daughter of Wendy and Barb’s little sister. She is Steve’s wife and Jonah’s mother.

Clementine receives a shock when she learns that her husband, Steve, took the money she intended as a down payment on their house and put it into his business instead.

Clementine had been writing to her mother, the author of an advice column, to get her insight into how she should handle the situation. She believed it was her mother’s advice that led her to the point that she had reached in her marriage. When Wendy suggested that Clementine should reunite with her husband because it would be best for their son, Clementine pointed out that Wendy had not followed her own advice.

Clementine decides to end her relationship with Steve and make her own way...
