Lordor Nordstrom

Lordor Nordstrom is the founder of Elmwood Springs and is the impetus for the town coming into being. He immigrated from Sweden to start a dairy farm, and is successful at it. When he gets lonely, he puts an advertisement in a Chicago newspaper in order to find his bride. Katrina Olsen answers the call and moves to the farm. They have two children together, Theodore and Ingrid. He dies of heart failure.

Lordor is the catalyst for the entire town, and, therefore, he is treated like a king. He is made mayor without an election, he is fawned upon by all the women in town, and, after he passes, they create Founder’s Day for him. Even when he is picking his wife, all the women in town get involved.
