Calli

Calli is a seven-year-old selective mute. She loves to go into the woods to play with her mother and brother. She enjoys having picnics and playing under the willow branches. She also likes being with her father, but only when he is sober. When he has too much beer, he is mean, and she is scared of him. Calli is a bright girl, and although she won't talk, and she has accidents regularly, she is able to hold her own in classwork. The teachers teach her some basic sign language so she can communicate when she has to go to the bathroom. Calli is very good friends with Petra. They play with their dolls together, and Petra always seems to know what Calli needs. Calli has a treasure box in her room and it contains elements of nature it, including some fluff to make wishes on.
