Pages 255-311 Summary

At one place Jimmy Sr. actually tries to begin a conversation with a pair of women. They say hello, but then go back into the crowd. Jimmy Sr. feels that at least it is a start. He is pleased at that. They strike out a couple of more times.

It's almost closing time, but Jimmy Sr. doesn't want them to go home. He suggests they find an after-hours pub. Bimbo goes along and they end up in a wine bar where they get to talking to two women, Anne Marie and Dawn. The place doesn't serve beer so they order a bottle of wine at ?23. Bimbo is talking to Anne Marie and they are smooching. Jimmy Sr. kind of has his arm around Dawn, but she isn't encouraging him particularly. A little bit, but not nearly as much as Anne Marie...
