Summary

In the prologue, Antionette Conway tells the story of how she learned about her missing dad. She kept asking her mom and wondering if he would ever come back. The older she got, the more the story changed about her dad, until she was finally old enough to realize that her dad was not a good person, and her mother tried to shield her from this.

In Chapter One, Detective Conway and her partner Moran are doing meaningless work at Dublin Castle, the location of the murder squad headquarters. Their chief and superintendent comes in and tells them about a murder case that just came in that he wants to give to them. He also wants Detective Breslin to watch over them as they run the case. Conway and Moran are not happy about it, but Conway thinks that they can use...
