Summary

The speaker sits in an empty room, where the only sound is a ticking clock. They have a black page in front of them that they’re trying to fill. The sky outside is dark and starless, but in an even darker space beyond something is approaching. The world in this space is a forest covered in snow; a fox is slowly and watchfully exploring it. As they approach, their paws leave dark prints in the white snow. Their shadow trails uncertainly behind them. As the fox near the speaker, the world begins to fill with light. Suddenly, the fox becomes more confident and determined. It rushes into the speaker’s mind. Although the world is still dark, and nothing else has changed, the blank page in front of them is now filled with words.
