Underground Pool

The underground pool is a pool located beneath the streets of an unnamed city. The pool is physically sequestered from the aboveground community. Therefore, the pool offers its swimmers a retreat from their real lives above ground, lives defined by stress, trauma, tragedy, and trouble. While in the world of the underground pool, the swimmers feel a sense of comfort, liberation, and solace. The pool has specific guidelines and parameters that grant the swimmers an orderliness and predictability they cannot find above ground. The community purports to offer its patrons an idyllic and blissful realm through which they might forget their troubles.
