Summary

As Chapter 12 begins, Flavia finds her sisters. Ophelia asks her where she has been when she sees her, and Daffy tells her that the police arrested their father. They do not know where he is, but Flavia says that he Is either in Bishop’s Lacey or Hanley. Ophelia cries when she thinks of their father being hanged. Flavia goes into her father's study where he keeps his stamp collection and tries to figure out where he hid the stamp they found on the dead bird and then realizes that it is not there. She goes to her father’s room and then to Harriet's dressing room. While she is there, Dogger comes, calls her father’s name and asks if he is there. Flavia finds this strange.
