Summary

In Chapter 1, Aaron Blackford tells Catalina “Lina” Martín he will be her date to her sister’s wedding. He knows she is desperate since the wedding is only a month away. She is in her best friend Rosie Graham’s office when he tells her this. They are all colleagues at a New York City engineering-consulting firm, InTech. Lina hardly believes the words coming out of her enemy’s mouth. Aaron is generally condescending and cold to her, so she assumes he is toying with her and declines his offer. Before walking away, Aaron warns Lina not to be late to their meeting. Lina recalls the only time she was late to a meeting in Chapter 2. It was a year prior.
