Summary

In Chapter 30, Day 20, Harry lied and told the psychiatrist that Katrine had surrendered with no resistance and that she had said nothing to him. The police department paid for Harry to stay in a hotel in Bergen that night. As he contemplated the mini bar, Rakel called Harry and told him that they needed to meet so she could tell him she did not want to see him again. As Harry thought about Katrine and her condition he realized part of his depression was caused because he realized he could end up the same way Katrine had.

Meanwhile, Hagen had been called by the Oslo superintendents to a meeting. They were all told that Katrine had been arrested as the Snowman. The chief superintendent announced Harry would be used as a scapegoat and blamed for the mistake. He indicated to Hagen that...
