Summary

Winter is turning into Spring and Flavius and Justin are out hunting on the marsh early one morning when they come upon two men talking quietly in the shadows. Flavius recognizes one of the men as Allectus and the other as a Saxon warrior. Flavius and Justin hide in the reeds and strain to hear the conversation between the two men but it is not clear. Just as quickly as they had come, the two men left in separate directions. Thinking that the Saxon is up to no good, Flavius and Justin decide to follow him. The Saxon soon spies them close behind and he puts up a good chase but Flavius and Justin eventually overcome the man and pin him to the ground. Flavius and Justin demand to know what the Saxon was...
