Summary

The narrative then shifts focus to Tha’mma in Dhaka. May and Tribid accompanied Tha’mma. After arriving at Mayadebi and Shaheb’s new house, she went out to find the house where Jethamoshai was living. Jethamoshai was quite elderly by that point, and he lived each day with the help of a caretaker named Khalil. Khalil brought Tha’mma inside the house to see Jethamoshai. Jethamoshai’s memories and faculties had begun to fade. He appeared to be quite stubborn in disposition. He did not recognize Tha’mma, and he adamantly refused to leave his home in Dhaka. Riots began to erupt on the street. Tha’mma, May, and Tribid left in a hurry to take shelter at Mayadebi’s home.
