Summary

In "Let Me In," it was February of 2020. Tookie told Jackie and Louise about the poem she found "in the till" (173). Shortly after discovering it, the poem had disappeared. Louise recommended she update her will.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus was breaking out in the United States. Over the course of the month, new cases appeared across the nation. Tookie could feel "death . . . in the air" (176). In March, Hetta decided to stay with Tookie and Pollux because of the virus. Tookie stocked up at the store. She did not know what to hoard.

One night, Hetta felt anxious. The pornography film she had acted in haunted her. She hoped Pollux would not find out.
