Prologue, Chapter 1, 2, 3, 4 Summary

"The Ruins of Gorlan" is a fantasy novel of a coming of age tale of two orphans who are attempting to find their way in the Kingdom of Araluen. The novel begins with a prologue, which tells the readers of a war that happened fifteen years before. Lord Morgarath attempted a takeover of the Kingdom of Araluen upon the King's death. The attack was thwarted by the King's trusted advisers who drove Lord Morgarath to the Mountains of Rain and Night for his traitorous attack. There he has been planning his revenge. He has found creatures who he has trained to exact the perfect revenge.

Chapter 1 introduces Will and his ward mates, Alyss, George, Jenny and Horace. They are all orphans who have been taken in by Baron Arald. He takes in and cares for all the orphans of his fiefdom...
