Pages 64 - 80 Summary

Daniel walks to the hotel one day carrying a suitcase with the news that Bonnie Dee has kicked him out of the house. Edna Earle suspects Daniel is happy with the arrangement because even though Bonnie Dee has kicked him out, he knows where she is. Later, Narciss tells Edna Earle and Daniel that as soon as Daniel left the house, Bonnie Dee began ordering things. Bonnie Dee even orders a washing machine. When Edna Earl mentions to Narciss the machine won't work without electricity, Narciss tell her that Bonnie has had the house hooked up for electricity. Edna Earle seems to think this is improper on Bonnie Dee's part since the Ponder house is not even her home. She learns that Bonnie Dee even gets a telephone in the house even though Edna Earle doubts it is ever used.
