Summary

A young boy named Bryce works for the little old lady in Chapter 16. Bryce constantly wants to look at Edward, but the old lady keeps telling him to get back to work. As Bryce and the old lady work, Edward hangs from his post wishing that he could be one of the birds. He loses hope that he will ever find a home. The afternoon goes on with the birds constantly pecking at Edward. In the early evening, Bryce comes back to Edward saying that he is going to rescue him. As Edward falls into Bryce's arms, Edward regains his hope that he can be saved.
