Chapters 12 & 13 Summary

All of the boys that chose not to participate in the class sat and watched all the rehearsals in chapter twelve. At first Georgie swore he would not get excited about the play, but he soon learns that he is very much excited about it. He secretly begins learning all of the lines. At night he practices the lines in his room and then practices in front of Mr. Collier and Robin. Tim gives him the gossip from the play. Richie, who is playing the Mad Hatter, has been teasing Kevin, who will play Alice in Alice in Wonderland. Kevin gets so upset over the teasing that he punches Richie in the face. Richie is now missing teeth and Kevin refuses to act as Alice. Mrs Harper has pulled the skit, even though it was her favorite.
