Summary

Chapter 5 – In a letter to Daniel dated April 7, 2012, Katrin explains the progress she has made on her work, and wants to know if Daniel has any of his own letters so that Katrin could see what he and Eric wrote to one another. She explains that just before his death, Eric spoke of meeting Daniel in Vizille, but only got as far as heading to Dover. Katrin also directly asks Daniel for help in filling in the pieces of Eric’s life. After sending the letter, Katrin considers how 1962 seemed to be a seminal year in Eric’s life, for it is 1962 that seems to be the entry to the truth of his life.
