Summary

Dorothy and Rog arrive at the apartment of Gaby and her partner Brian. The baby is at Gaby’s parents, so Gaby feels free to be loud, playful, and semi-drunk. She takes Dorothy into the baby’s room and closes the door. As Dorothy experiences a degree of discomfort with the stuffed toys and real sheepskin rug, Gaby reveals that she is pregnant – and then, that she has no intention of keeping the baby. As Dorothy tries to figure out the best way to react, Gaby reveals that she and Brian had wanted to have a second child, just not so soon. They discuss what a good thing it is that Gaby has the right to choose, and the word “abortion” comes into the text for the first time – i.e., as Gaby discusses how she is going to end...
