Summary

Back at the hotel, Hannah watches coverage of The Shop’s legal troubles and realizes that Owen had to have shared with her information that was real, even if some of the facts were fabricated. She remembers a story he used to tell about a math professor he had in college. With Bailey’s help, they remember his name and realize that this professor, Professor Cookman, is on the faculty at UT Austin, not Princeton, where Owen claimed he went.

They find Professor Cookman in a lecture and stay afterwards to see if he recognizes a picture of Owen. At first, he does not seem to remember Owen at all since it was so long ago, but he does remember hanging his midterm up because it was so bad. He agrees to help them when Bailey explains that he lied to her...
