July: 15 - 17. Summary

In Chapter 15, May is home in bed when Pete calls. He wants to come and see her, he wants to talk. May isn't ready to face the realities of her behavior with Pete. She is nervous and scared. She tells Pete she is sunburned and needs rest before her driving test. They agree to meet up after the test. May is pretty sure Pete is about to say "I love you," so she gets off of the phone quickly. May takes out the naked Polaroids of Pete from the summer before. She notices that he has put on some muscle since the pictures were taken. She thinks he has a nice butt, but still can't see enough to decide if he is well endowed in other areas. May puts the pictures away because she feels like her father is watching her...
