Chapter Five and Six pp. 40-61. Summary

Chapter Five brings the story back to Laura and Sam. Laura has stayed late and goes into the teacher's lounge before she leaves school. She finds Sam there in a relaxed attitude reading. She comments on how hard the work is for the teacher and wants to know if it will get easier for her. As the conversation continues, Laura talks about the unfairness of the world that teachers aren't paid enough. She resents the millions sport figures received while a teacher has a more important job and gets practically nothing compared to the sports person.
