Chapters 17-24 Summary

Chapters 17 - 18: Minny

The heat hits an all time high and everyone is suffering from it. Minny complains that Mississippi has the weirdest weather, snowing one day and then 95 degrees or more for the next nine months. Minny seems to be increasingly irritable. Celia continues to call the society ladies. Minny wishes Celia would take the hint and realize that none will ever return the call.

Aibileen asks Minny to go to the weekly meeting but Minny has been banned because of an argument she had with one of the other women. At the meeting the members discuss local sit-ins and how they can get involved.

Minny thinks to herself about the stories and the work with Skeeter. Minny begins to admit to herself that she really likes telling her stories.

Minny notices that Miss Celia is sneaking up to her...
