Connecticut

Connecticut is where most Patrick’s family lives and where the first chapters of the novel are set. This is where Greg first asks Patrick to take the kids for the summer so that Greg can go into rehab. Sara’s funeral is also in Connecticut, though Patrick feels that is a disservice to Sara’s true self. Over time, however, Patrick accepts that moving closer to family would be more beneficial than living home alone and heads to New York so he can be closer to his family without dwelling on the memories of Connecticut itself.
