Calvin "Cal" Lewis Jr.

Cal is the main protagonist of the novel, and the novel is told from his first person perspective. Cal is a bisexual teenager (though never states his sexuality explicitly, only eludes to relationships with both sexes), and about to enter his senior year of high school. The novel starts with him in New York City, but follows him through his move to Clear Lake, Houston as he accompanies his family who are moving for his father’s new job.
