Valerian
Valerian is an agent of the Spatio-Temporal Agency and is on a mission on an alien planet when Galaxity disappears. He is a strong, capable character. Over the course of the series so far, Valerian has shown that he is sometimes self-centered and overly confident. However, in this series of adventures, he is fully aware that his actions impact the lives of others. For example, when he is on the planet Glapum't and is literally kidnapping the Glapum'tian named Ralph, Valerian stops and considers whether he has the right to make this decision. He does not know what his mission is or why he needs the Glapum'tian, but he does think – at least briefly – about the life of the Glapum'tian he is kidnapping.
