Solomon Slepak

Solomon Slepak was born in 1893. His father died when he was eight years old and his mother was extremely poor. He left home when he was 1thirteen years old because he didn't want to become a rabbi as his family desired. He made his way to America and taught himself English by reading the newspapers.
