Summary

Chapter 14 continues the recollections of the night of the Rivington Showcase. Opal, Nev, and their band went onstage for their set while Chet Bond continued to look for his flag. They tried to play their set, but the bikers soon began yelling racial slurs and abuse at Opal. Eventually, Opal became furious, and she removed part of her costume to reveal the Confederate flag underneath. She ripped part of the flag apart, and she turned around to show the part of the flag that rested against her rear end. The bikers became enraged and violent. Howie tried to get the venue to intervene with security staff, but the Smythe had no security staff. A riot erupted, and eventually the police arrived.

In Chapter 15, the recollections of that night continue. Opal, Nev, and the band members managed to escape, except for Jimmy, who was beaten...
