Greer Kadetsky

We begin the novel meeting Greer Kadetsky as a shy and unsure girl who is incredibly unhappy with where she ended up going to college. She is very intelligent and driven, which which initially earns her admission to Yale. She plans to go there until she finds out that she cannot afford it because her parents messed up her financial aid forms. Greer was lonely and out of place until she met her best friend Zee. The two became close after protesting the school’s decision to barely punish Greer’s harasser Darren Tinzler. The situation with Darren is what propels Greer to meet Faith Frank. Faith’s influence inspires Greer to make the best of her time at Ryland, and she becomes involved in an array of political activity.
