Hig wonders if the old codger is angry enough to shoot him if he comes down the ladder to them. He can see from a survivalists point of view what a good set up they have. He backs up further, suddenly exhausted and trying to think things through, but dozes off. The next thing he is aware of is a man ordering him to back up and out of his hiding place.
