Fearscape

The fearscape is a place in one's brain where all fears are present and seemingly real. In order to defeat the Vours one must become brave and overcome fear in order to escape and be safe. There are many different fears and fearscapes presented in the book.

Reggie's fearscapes typically involve spiders. Reggie is terrified of spiders and the Vours use that against her. Another fear Reggie has is something happening to Eben or Henry. Aaron has a fear of drowning since he experienced an incident as a child.

Henry's fears are detailed since he is the one who is fighting for his life. His fears include scenes from horror movies and stories. Berzerko the hatchet-handed clown is one of Henry's great fears.
