Summary

In Chapter 9, a patient named Hannah Spiegel thinks about Lenny’s moment of panic and discord in the cafeteria. Hannah views the hospital as being structured around an oppressive system, and she believes that a collective rebellion is the only thing that can alter the system. In Chapter 10, Dr. Limb has a private meeting with Lenny and assures Lenny that the hospital can be a generally agreeable environment. Lenny mentions his father, who died of sickness when Lenny was a young boy.
