Part II: The Constitution Explained Summary and Analysis

The first part of this section is titled "How the Constitution is Written." The final draft of the Constitution was written by Gouverneur Morris and is considered to be one of the most clearly written documents in existence. Gouverneur Morris put a great deal of thought into writing to the Constitution so that it could be easily understood and allow no room for interpretation. The United States Constitution is the oldest written constitution in use anywhere in the world. Since the Constitution was ratified, there have only been 26 changes to the text referred to as amendments.
