Beauty: Courtly Life in All Its Glory Summary

Beauty is in her parlor at her father's palace interviewing a prince that is petitioning her hand in marriage. Beauty tells the prince to bolt the door and place a stool in the center of the room. He is told to undress and to stand on the stool for inspection. The prince is astonished at this idea but does as Beauty commands.
