Summary

In Chapter 36, set in October 2017, there was so much information in the folder that Ransom gave Shea that she and Michael had to go to his apartment to sift through and verify it. First, there was a copy of Lily’s birth certificate confirming that Mariana was her mother. The father was unknown according to the birth certificate.

A report from one of Lily’s foster families said she had behaved in a hostile manner. The reason she left was specified as the suicide of a family member. Shea remembered Beth telling her how Lily had said bad things had happened to the foster family who left her with bruises. Shea wondered if it was really a suicide or if it was Lily’s first murder.
