Summary

“Bobby Conroy Comes Back from the Dead” is the story of Bobby Conroy, a failed stand-up comedian who returns to his family home when his career falls apart. He answers a casting call for a new movie by George Romero, the director of Dawn of the Dead, volunteering to be one of the zombie extras. At the shoot, he runs into Harriet Rutherford, his high school crush.

Bobby and Harriet awkwardly reconnect, and Harriet ends up inviting Bobby to have lunch with her and her husband, Dean, who works at a lumberyard. At lunch, Bobby realizes that Dean laughs at everything, and that the reason Harriet is with him is that he is an easy audience. Bobby directly confronts Harriet about why she is with Dean and she answers that he is patient...
