Summary And Analysis For Chapters 17-20 Summary

They run until they are exhausted and find an area that looks like a natural cave. Percy tells the others what had happened. Annabeth is upset that Percy keeps calling Luke evil. As they walk, Percy finds Grover's cap and hoof prints. They follow the prints through a treacherous tunnel into a cave.

The teens reunite with Grover and Tyson and Grover passes out. He has done that before when he is near the god, Pan. They continue walking until they reach an area filled with animals and the old satyr. Pan tells them that he has been waiting for them. He has chosen Grover and is ready to fade. He breathes his spirit into each of them, except for Nicos, and then fades.
