Summary

At the beginning of Chapter 26, Ingrid receives a phone call from Flora’s school teacher on Friday, June 12th, 1992. The teacher asks Ingrid and Gil to meet with her at school, and Ingrid agrees, promising to catch the school bus with Flora on Monday. Ingrid reveals that as she writes this letter, she struggles to sleep normally, falling asleep shortly after ten p.m. each evening and waking in the middle of the night, awake for the remainder of the day. Shortly after four a.m., Ingrid writes her letters to Gil then ventures out for a swim, before the girls wake.
